Casa Mila

This drive will take you past the iconic Casa Mila, which is also known as La Pedrera, from any accounts, an unusual building it was also designed by Antoni Gaudi in 1906 and is today recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Housing the headquarters of the Fundacio Catalunya-La Pedrera and is in frequent use as a cultural center. Moving further along is the Casa Batllo, another of Gaudi’s architectural creations. This building together with Casa Amatller and Casa Lleo-Morera, comprises a series along the historic Passeig de Gracia, are together referred to as the "Block of Discord". In its time, the house was initially commissioned by a middle class family and in 1904 Gaudi was requested to refurbish the building, to its current highly artistic style.
